USING ASSESSMENT DATA TO IMPROVE STUDENT OUTCOMES

Skyline Education has a proven track record in providing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Identifying a student’s academic standing is our first phase in understanding how to help each student achieve success moving forward.
Right from the start of the school year, every student takes the NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) benchmark testing, which is an adaptive test, that provides immediate data. If your child correctly answers a question, the computer assessment provides a harder question next. If they miss that same question, then an easier question is asked. This data identifies the instructional areas each student is ready to challenge—whether they are on, above, or below grade level.
Teachers and district leaders work together in professional learning communities to analyze data from NWEA MAP to improve instructional planning, identify areas for improvement, and to focus on intervention and enrichment through data-driven instruction.
Furthermore, all students have access to Edgenuity (My Path and Path Blazers), a digital program that imports NWEA MAP assessment data to create prescriptive learning paths without additional testing designed to fill gaps and accelerate them to on-level mastery.
When students show signs of struggling with academics or behavior, Skyline’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) helps educators respond to those needs. MTSS uses multiple tiers of support to assist all student at various levels by providing intervention, enrichment, and behavioral strategies to help improve educational outcomes for all students.
